LPP, an advanced lipoprotein particle profile test, identifies many of those at risk by measuring the NCEP emerging risk factors and the clinically relevant lipoprotein particle numbers.

Evidence indicates that the cardioprotective effects of hormone therapy are modified by timing of initiation according to time since menopause and age. The cardioprotective role of postmenopausal hormone therapy will only be resolved by studies such as the Early versus Late Intervention Trial with Estradiol.

Inflammation plays a significant role in the pathophysiology of many of these degenerative processes, with deficiencies of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from A to Zinc, as active participants. Deficiencies are very common and very treatable.

The benefit in women who initiate hormone therapy in close proximity to menopause is similar to other coronary heart disease primary prevention therapies.
