Special risks, sexually transmitted infections, and well women care in the lesbian population are reviewed. A brief overview of transgendered women’s care is included.

Deaths of women from cardiovascular disease are increasing and the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) acknowledges that 50% of those at risk are missed by standard cholesterol testing.
